I heart shaped walnut Walnuts

Walnuts are unique among nuts because the fat in walnuts is primarily heart-healthy polyunsaturated, a source of important omega-3 fatty acids. Studies indicate that omega-3s lower cholesterol and protect against heart disease and stroke. They are also rich in essential linoleic and linolenic fatty acids, which are parent compounds of omega-6 and omega-3 respectively. Omega-3 fatty acids help reduce the risk of heart disease because they make the blood less sticky. They prevent platelets from sticking together and forming very dangerous clots.

Eat 8 to 10 Walnut Halves A Day

A daily handful of walnuts (about 8 to 10 walnut halves) can replace some of the saturated fat found in meats, butter, high-fat dairy products and processed foods. For convenience, pre-package walnuts into daily portions using small plastic bags or containers.
